About
Born and raised in Savannah, GA, Stancil is the oldest of 6 sons. At a very early age, we discovered that Stancil had a natural knack for making people smile. He also began to develop a passion for making people laugh. That passion to entertain stayed with him throughout his school years. He was introduced to music in middle school. There he learned how to sing, and play the alto saxophone and baritone horn. His new found musical drive followed him to high school.
Suddenly, tragedy struck the family. At the age of 17, Stancil lost one of his brothers to sickle cell anemia. The chain was broken. A few months later, one of his best friends passed away. He was crushed and devastated. And he did what he knew to do. He turned to the Savior, Jesus Christ for comfort and peace . . . which he found. Stancil went on graduate from high school with three music scholarship opportunities. He chose to study communication at Savannah State University.
While he’s no stranger to pain and struggle, that’s not what he presents to you. His faith allows him to continue to press forward. Singing, writing, and acting are a few of the outlets Stancil uses to express his faith. In 2004, Stancil, worked with Chatham County Schools to record a CD entitled “Record for Learning”. A few of his self-written R&B songs received airplay on Savannah’s local college radio station. In 2005, he published his first book, Poetic Love, a collection of poetry. Since then, Stancil has starred in student films, and had small parts in music videos and major motion pictures, including Tyler Perry’s “I Can Do Bad All By Myself”.
Stancil is a talented man of God whose natural joy is inspiring. His faith is full of genuine love. He laughs freely and his smiles are genuine. His gentle humor is comforting . . . like a reminder that everything is already alright.
His song is real,
And his modesty is true.
He is Mr. Stancil Brown
